London, U.K. – Ascertus Limited, a provider of information and document lifecycle management solutions to professional services organisations and corporate legal departments, grew its new customer base by 50%; doubled the number of staff in the organisation; and expanded the product portfolio through new partnership agreements with technology suppliers in 2017.

In 2017, Ascertus significantly strengthened its presence in the law firm sector, acquiring organisations of all sizes as customers, including large multinational firms. In the corporate legal space, the company made inroads into the asset management sector while strengthening presence in the banking, finance, insurance, engineering and construction, oil and gas, retail, media and pharmaceutical industries.

Customers consistently cited the company’s excellence in delivering high quality support and account management services; proven track record in implementing the next generation document management solution, iManage Work; extensive experience; and technical expertise as the key reasons for selecting Ascertus as their document management solution provider of choice.

Ascertus saw a significant increase in requests for cloud implementations of iManage Work – as well as for complementary solutions that help streamline the document lifecycle process end to end – from both law firms and corporate legal departments. This highlights the business imperative of information and knowledge management in organisations as they progress their digital transformation programmes.

“2017 has been a phenomenal year for us and we are well poised to grow in 2018 too,” commented Jon Wainwright, Sales and Marketing Director at Ascertus Limited, on the company’s performance. “We have truly made a mark for ourselves in the large law space. Law firms now recognise Ascertus as a reliable and viable alternative for iManage implementation, support and other complementary solutions.”

Wainwright added, “In the corporate sector, while previously legal departments struggled to secure budget for a best-of-breed document management, the cloud has helped them overcome this issue. Legal departments have realised that they can implement iManage Work – which is by far the preferred document management solution of most lawyers – without extensive support from their IT departments, who are often already over-stretched in terms of resources and budget, and don’t always necessarily appreciate the unique technology requirements of their legal colleagues.”

Ascertus made significant investment in staffing and resourcing in 2017, doubling the number of employees over the previous year. Key hires were in the account management, support and technical teams to support the growing customer base across the client lifecycle including pre-sales, implementation, and crucially, after-sales maintenance – a service that Ascertus is widely recognised for.

Given the company’s ‘solution-driven’ approach to product implementation, Ascertus is always on the lookout for new value-adding complementary solutions to add to its portfolio. In 2017, Ascertus entered into EMEA channel partnerships with Outback Imaging UK Ltd to offer document capture and scanning solution, EzeScan; and Nikec Solutions to sell the extranet and collaboration solution, Nikec Hub. The company also became the authorised reseller of Trinogy Systems’ legal case management software, WorkView; and of workspace creation/management tool, Workspace Designer for iManage.

In recognition for the value the company delivers to its customers, Ascertus was awarded the title of ‘Global Partner of the Year’ by HotDocs, the document automation software specialist.
